January and February are Pet Dental Health Months here at Loving Care Animal Hospital. Dental care shouldn't be like pulling teeth, however, for most pets unfortunately it is. As a result, oral disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem. Periodontal disease affects 80% of dogs and 70% of cats over 3 years of age and can lead to painful tooth loss and dangerous bacteria infecting the kidneys, liver and heart. Routine dental cleanings can extend your pet’s life 2-4 years.

To encourage healthy mouths, we are having a dental cleaning special for the months of January and February. We will deduct $25.00 from the regular dental cleaning price. We also have a $5.00 off discount on Breathalyser throughout the month of February!

Dental cleanings include sedation, sub-gingival scaling, fluoride treatment and polishing. An antibiotic injection is included in the cost to prevent any bacterial spread throughout the blood stream. Depending on the severity of the oral disease, antibiotics may be prescribed and are additional.

Blood work is recommended for all pets prior to sedation to minimize anesthetic risks and detect any underlying problems, such as kidney or liver disease.

Please call for more information and to get your pet on the road to a healthy and happy life!
