Dr. Carlson was elected as president-elect of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA) during its recent annual meeting in Lombard. Dr. Carlson has served on the ISVMA Board of Directors for over three years, on its Executive Committee for two years and served as co-chair of the ISVMA’s recent convention that boasted over 500 veterinary attendees.
“Dr. Carlson has an outstanding record of leadership and high achievement in the veterinary profession that coupled with her dedication and compassion make her an excellent choice to lead the association in the future,” said Deborah Lakamp, CAE, ISVMA executive director. ”As the owner of the Loving Care Animal Hospital small animal veterinary clinic, Dr. Carlson brings to the association both a private and public sector point-of-view gained as a previous DuPage Animal Control Administrator.”
The ISVMA is a not-for-profit professional association based in Springfield, Ill. The mission of the ISVMA is to advance the well-being of the veterinary profession, animals, the public and the environment. Established in 1883, its membership of 2,700 individuals includes veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians and veterinary students.
